The sun had risen hours ago, Sorrelstar sat atop the ledge that rested as the entrance to her nest. The, now heavily pregnant, leader waddling her way to scramble onto the High Rock. "May all cats old enough to gather prey gather below High Rock for a Clan meeting." The tabby queen yowled. She watched as the dens cleared quickly. Aspenflower was quick to take her place below Sorrelstar silently, a slight of flicker of her gaze towards Ravenwing.
"I believe a few ceremonies are due," she shifted her heavy weight stumbling a bit. "Rosepetal, is Starlingpaw ready to become a warrior?"
"Yes, Sorrelstar." The tabby warrior replied.
"Startlingpaw," she waved her tail at the tabby tom. He stepped forward silently. "Starlingpaaw, do you promise to follow and uphold the warrior code as your ancestors before you?"
"I do," he answered the tabby queen.
"Then from this moment on your name, Starlingpaw, is no more. You shall be known as Starlingwing for your bravery and skill." She let the Clan chant his name before she silenced them before she proceeded with Deerpaw, now Deerfoot. Next was her own litter.
"Swiftpaw, Dipperpaw, Sycamorepaw, Morningpaw, Dapplepaw, step forward." She waved her litter forward. "Do you promise to follow and uphold the warrior code as your ancestors before you did?" Her voice was a bit cold, her eyes giving off a sternness.
"I do," They answered in unison.
"From this moment on your names are no more. Swiftpaw you shall be known as Swiftstream for your swiftness. Dipperpaw, you shall be known as Dipperstorm for your unwavering nature. Sycamorepaw, you shall be known as Sycamoreheart for your gentleness. Morningpaw, you shall be known as Morningflame for your fire and soul. Dapplepaw, you shall be known as Dappleleaf for your peaceful front." She let the Clan chant the names before half-fell half leapt from the rock and headed to the fresh-kill pile. But I am the Chosen One 17:19, January 9, 2018 (UTC)
A feeling of pride welled up in Dappleleaf's chest as the cheers of her Clanmates echoed in her ears, although the lack of gratification in her mother's eyes left the new warrior feeling empty. Why bother having a litter of kittens if you'll never appreciate them? The distasteful thought left a feeling of respulse, leaving a cold lump in the place of the previous pride. She attempted to push it away, only to fail. Turning, she offered Morningflame a warm smile instead, despite the tom being blind. Certainly he could feel the pleasantness in her gaze and presence, even if unable to visualize her smile.Silverstar 22:21, January 10, 2018 (UTC)
Sycamoreheart closed her eyes and embraced the moment she heard her new name on the chants of her Clanmates. She opened her eyes to find Rosepetal, her former mentor, and when she did the young warrior nodded at her. The tabby she-cat had to, once she sat her vigil, thank the older she-cat for everything she taught her. Her mind then wandered to the look her mother's face as she spoke her children's names. Like her sister, she picked up on the tone and noted that the leader seemed happier to make the other apprentices into warriors. But, Sycamoreheart didn't worry too much, she'd already distanced herself from most of her siblings and mother anyway, caring more about working for AutumnClan. — #garykingandtheenablers 23:29 Wed Jan 10 2018
Swiftstream held a strong sense of pride upon his name being called. A name of which he knew held meaning, sure it was more suited for a SplashClan cat but he did hold the attributes of being a swimmer and great fisher. Heck, Pinefang had even tried getting him downed for it. He swished his plumy tail proudly, he knew his mother favored him. She had too, its not like she actually like too gentle Dappleleaf, blind Morningflame, or even loyal Dipperstorm, Sycamoreheart barely even spoke to them so, of course he was his mother's favorite! The patches bi-color warrior licmed his chest fur once more before he lurched fortb readt to take on new challenges. Well more or less, Deerfoot and the young warrior had been engaged romantically recently and he planned on asking her to be his mate. But I am the Chosen One 00:43, January 11, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame nudged Dappleleaf's shoulder affectionately. "I can't believe we're finally warriors!" he exclaimed quietly. Pride filled his body and he stood up straight with his head held high. He felt like he had achived something else, besides becoming a warrior. He had finally proved a blind cat was just as good as a cat who could see, they could be warriors! To him, that made him even prouder than being made a warrior. ~Patchfeather~ 14:51, January 11, 2018 (UTC)
Swiftstream turned, a face of beaming pride as he nudged Deerfoot. "Your name suits you." He purred, his shoulder fur brushing hers. She gave him a soft smile. "All the better, you've got the name of a SplashClan warrior. It suits you. You happen to be quite the swimmer." But I am the Chosen One 15:51, January 11, 2018 (UTC)
A small purr rumbled in Dappleleaf's throat at her blind brother's enthusiasm. At least he had little concern over Sorrelstar's lack of compassion, she was envious of how easily he seemed to let it go. "I hope the vigil'll be fun." The tortoiseshell tabby commented, shuffling her paws. What if someone came in an attacked camp? She hated combat, or conflict of any sorts!
Otterstrike, meanwhile, thoughtfully watched the chattering new warriors from distance. Hmm, he didn't really like any of them. Maybe Dappleleaf, he thought she was ok, but far too weak-hearted and too quick to smother cats. It was overwhelming, like fresh honey.Silverstar 21:50, January 11, 2018 (UTC)
The sun had sunk fairly quickly, leaving the new warriors to their vigil. Dipperstorm sat closer to Morningflame and Dappleleaf, lost in thought. She had been deciding on a...thought that had come up moons ago. Leaving the Clan for a better life. "You know we don't have to sit here and watch it. Sorrelstar, I mean." She said, turning to Morningflame and Dappleleaf. "We can leave, well I'm leaving. I think a new life is well worth it, away from her - Sorrelstar. You two can come with me? To SplashClan." She asked, she hoped they would be even if they didn't she'd still leave. But I am the Chosen One 20:17, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame stared at Dipperstorm. "What?" he thought he had heard her wrong for a second, but then he realized that's really what she said. "Are you joking?" ~Patchfeather~ 21:43, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
"Do I sound like I'm joking, Morningflame? I'm tired of the abuse Sorrelstar gives us, we can't even prove ourselves because she favors Swifstream." The young warrior said. But I am the Chosen One 21:49, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame honestly had no idea what to think, or how to answer his sisters question. Leave AutumnClan? He just agreed to protect this Clan, even with the cost of his life, to be loyal, he just showed these cats how good he was, and it to just leave, when he had achived so much? He glanced over at Sorrelstar, feeling his pelt prickle with hatred. You were supposed to be the one who supported me above everyone else, and you failed at that. You wouldn't care if I left, or even if I died. And Swiftstream. He had no words to put together how much he hated him. If he left, would anyone really care? He had no friends, he only had Dappleleaf. Orchidsnow? He cared about his mentor, but did that matter? If he went with Dipperstorm to join SplashClan, he could start a new life, maybe an even better one than here. No one cared for him here, maybe someone somewhere else would. I shouldn't be loyal to cats who aren't loyal to me. He frowned and looked back at Dipperstorm blindly. "I'll think about it." He wished he could see Dappleleaf, to maybe read her face, see what she was thinking. Above all cats, he didn't know if he could leave her. ~Patchfeather~ 22:09, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
"What's there to think about? I'm leaving, tonight. I'm not looking back, your both welcome to come but...I can't stay a minute longer under such a careless leader." But I am the Chosen One 22:16, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame nodded, feeling a surge of excitement. This was actually happening, this was serious! He had dreamed of running away from the Clan for a long time, but was always too scared to do it. He ignored his vow to his Clan just a few moments before, despite the guilt that stabbed at his heart. "I'll give you my answer before you go, I promise." Just think of how much better things will be. You could be so much happier, respected. You could have friends and be awesome, you might not be judged. But what if life in SplashClan was even worse than AututmnClan? I... I guess it's a risk worth taking. I'm not afriad. ~Patchfeather~ 22:23, January 12, 2018 (UTC)
"Find me at the border then." She said. "You can come too, Dappleleaf." She said, backing away slowly. Her gaze going to the exit.
Sorrelstar lay inside her den, she had been lost in thought until a slightly painful wave of "cramps" had hit, she knew all too well it wasn't cramps. It was the signal that she was in the bery last term of her pregnancy, labor. But I am the Chosen One 17:13, January 13, 2018 (UTC)
She had seated herself quietly and patiently, tail wrapped tightly around her paws as she listened attentively to Dipperstorm's final words. Dappleleaf had been thinking about leaving, thinking about leaving for a long time. She just didn't expect her siblings to be thinking the same thing. "I've planned on leaving for a long time," her reply came in a quiet and rapsy voice, like a wise elder. "I want to make mother regret neglecting us. I want to become a deputy, or a leader, or the greatest warrior ever, and make her eat those words."Silverstar 17:31, January 13, 2018 (UTC)
Dipperstorm paused at Dappeleaf's words. "Then do it. Come with me to SplashClan," she said softly. She didn't really want deputyship or lesdership buy..if that were to happen she'd make sure she wasn't like her mother. But I am the Chosen One 17:34, January 13, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame was relieved to hear Dappleleaf had also been planning to leave. "If you go, I'll go," he grinned at his sister. Maybe one day they could rule SplashClan together! ~Patchfeather~ 19:05, January 13, 2018 (UTC)
Dipperstorm looked away, she was happy that they were close but it hurt a bit. She didn't really have anybody like that. They were like the best of friends. Maybe she'd find somebody like that in SplashClan. "Like I said meet me at the border if you want to join me." She murmured before she turned casting Swiftstream, whom had been grooming his pelt, a dark glance. But I am the Chosen One 19:37, January 13, 2018 (UTC)
Ears angling backwards towards the leader's den, Dappleleaf swore she could hear their mother shuffling out of discomfort. "Give me a few days. I might chance it out here, see what the next few days bring. I haven't fully decided on SplashClan yet, or any other Clan. But I'd hurry along if I were you, I think I hear our 'mother' rising." A feeling of anxiousness churned in her belly, yet enthusiasm existed as well. She wasn't a fan of danger, yet the idea of leaving everything behind in AutumnClan also excited her.Silverstar 18:40, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Dipperstorm gave a farewell to Dappleleaf and Morningflame. "Stay safe, I'm sure we can chat at the Gatherings." She called behind her before she disappeared from camp, set on reaching the border before anyone knew she was gone.
Aspenflower entered camp, dropping the prey she had just caught off at the fresh-kill pile. She moved towards the warriors den intercepting Ravenwing with a smile. "About time, I've been looking for you." She said with a slight laugh. But I am the Chosen One 22:37, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
The tortoiseshell tabby watched her sister leave, curious as to where her own path would lead, and privately wondering if she'd ever see her sister again. StarClan knew what dangers would lie ahead, or even to how SplashClan would react. Thankfully, they seemed relatively peaceful. Now... How would Sorrelstar react? Dappleleaf shifted uncomfortably at the thought, swearing to keep her location classified. Silverstar 22:55, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Sorrelstar had easily given birth to four kittens but before she could even give them a second look an eery feeling cast over. Her gaze left the den towards where Starlingwing sat with Deerfoot standing watch and not far from them Dappleleaf, Morningflame, Sycamoreheart, and Swiftstream but...Dipperstorm was gone. She'd have to ask later about her missing child. The familiar sound of the entrance rustling alerted the tabby leader to an intruder and Starlingwing had already charged forward. The tom could barely call a warning before a dark russet paw snapped the tabby's neck, a sort of weird cackling howl leaving the animal's mouth. A fox. The tabby leader lurched to her paw's restlessly before she launched herself down the slope from her den towards the young warrior's. "Swiftstream, pay attention. Your pelt doesn't matter, your Clan's safety does." She snapped as she charged the fox with a hiss. She had easily given her children a brief glimpse of the former, old Sorrelstar. But I am the Chosen One 23:01, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame stood up quickly at the sounds, the scent, the tension within the air, and feeling the movement with his whiskers. A cold chill traveled down his spine as he realized what was happening and without another thought, rushed toward the fox with bared fangs. ~Patchfeather~ 23:19, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Sorrelstar still stuck in her own head as she charged the fox, pushed Morningflame back. His safety in her thoughts as she battered the fox away, fangs bared and claws moving swiftly. It was no wonder she was named Sorrelfang as a warrior. But I am the Chosen One 23:23, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
What the heck, did Sorrelstar have some death wish? "I'm trying to help you!" he hissed, feeling offended she pushed him away. He dove toward the fox once more. ~Patchfeather~ 23:28, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
"Morningflame, get back before--" The tabby leader was cut off as the fox dove for her throat silencing her, the animal's teeth slicing through her delicate flesh. Aspenflower had watched it for only a second, enough time to charge forward when Morningflame didn't listen. "Back up," she waved a couple warriors forward as they battled the fox driving it out. Aspenflower stood over the leader. It had been amazing to see what she was like before Falconheart's death, Swiftstream was standing off to the side with a surprised look upon on his face. "She never fights like that anymore." The bicolor whispered. But I am the Chosen One 23:33, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
"What happened?" Morningflame asked, angrily stomping back and glaring at Aspenflower. He scented blood. "Is she all right?" he asked, at the same time asking himself, Why are you asking? ~Patchfeather~ 23:39, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Aspenflower was quiet for a minute before she answered darkly."She's losing a life, Starlingwing's dead." She lifted her head and gave Aspenflower a stern gaze. "You could have gotten yourself killed, kid." But I am the Chosen One 23:43, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame shook off the news of death easily and instead, it was like a shockingly cold pool of water falling on him at her words. "Excuse me? I'm a warrior! I fight for my Clan, even at the cost of my life." He glanced ruefully toward Sorrelstar's body. "I could have saved her." ~Patchfeather~ 23:47, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
Aspenflower gave the tom a stern look. "She wouldn't have fallen if she wasn't distracted." The tabby deputy turned back to Sorrelstar, she hadn't yet stirred. But I am the Chosen One 23:53, January 14, 2018 (UTC)
"I'm not saying anything, why don't you ask her..if she wakes up." The deputy said, signaling to Wolfstorm to help get Sorrelstar to her den. Upon entering the leader's den, small mewlings can be heard. "By the stars, she kitted before attacking the fox." Aspenflower muttered. But I am the Chosen One 00:03, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame helped as best as he could move Sorrelstar to her den, hiding the anger that boiled in his belly. Why would I be distracting anyway, that's stupid. His thought shut up when Aspenflower spoke. "Wait, she was pregnant?" he exclaimed. ~Patchfeather~ 00:07, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
"Be my guest, you are their half-brother." She said. Her gaze was soft, she left the tabby tom to watch the kittens until Sorrelstar woke to join Ravenwing. But I am the Chosen One 00:37, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
It all happened in a blinding flash, so fast that Dappleleaf hardly registered situation. She remembered seeing blood, and then suddenly growing sick to her stomach, and then...vomit, obviously. She cowered off away from the others, feeling light-headed and considerably ill. Dear StarClan, why did blood have to be so disgusting....? And why did Sorrelstar suddenly act so noble, like she actually cared for her kittens? The thought only made Dappleleaf even further dizzy, so she pushed it out of her mind.Silverstar 00:42, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
In a raspy voice, Dappleleaf looked up at Pinestorm with a small cringe. "If you know what's best for your fur, I'd suggest backing away from me for a bit." She meant it in a non-threatening manner, although she did feel another bout vomit working its way up.Silverstar 01:41, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame padded into the den, hearing the mews of the little kits. He sensed them in front of him, in their nest. "Uh, hi guys," he began, then realized they couldn't hear yet. He had no idea how to... interact with kits honestly. "I'm your brother, Morningflame. I was just made a warrior today, and you guys sound pretty cute," he carried on anyway. "I... I think I'm going to leave... forever, well, I don't know what I'm going to do... but if I do, I'm sorry for that. I hope you have a better life than I did." ~Patchfeather~ 02:20, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Pinestorm sidestepped some. "You might wanna see Rooknose about that." The warrior chimed in worriedly.
Morningflame carried on. "I can't see you, so I have no idea what you look like, so I probably won't even know who you when you're grown up. When we meet at Gatherings, I won't know you're my siblings, so if you ever find out about me in some crazy way, maybe try finding me? It'd be cool to know you one day. Also, sorry you guys didn't hear anything I just said. Or you can't see me." He sat up straight with a small frown. "I should go. Take care, little guys," he mewed, then turned to exit the den. ~Patchfeather~ 02:35, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Sorrelstar had heard part of what the blind warrior had said, primarily the leaving part. It tore her heart in two. Is that where Dipperstorm had gone? A new home? The tortoiseshell tabbt pulled the kittens close weakly, curling up around them. Maybe she could actually treat this litter better, she knew it was too late for the way she'd treated her first litter. Afterall they seemed to be partinf too quickly. But I am the Chosen One 02:41, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
"I'll be fine later on, honest." Dappleleaf's entire frame tensed, but she forcefully swallowed whatever grossness was attempting to erupt from her throat. "...It's happened a lot."Silverstar 02:56, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame left the den and sat outside, looking glum. Am I really going to leave? he asked himself absently. I think I will. He glanced to where Dappleleaf's scent was coming from. Is she going to leave? ~Patchfeather~ 03:04, January 15, 2018 (UTC)
Swiftstream was out of camp, with Deerfoot, of course. The two had been out quite a lot. Swiftstream had changed in his ways, not really a jerk, but still a bit of one. He also had given up his player tendencies. He knew nothing of the other mollies he'd had flings with were having his kittens. Frostfur, Duskfire, Oakstorm. Nothing. He turned to Derefoot a lopsided grin upon his face. "Say, a swim sounds terrific." He said to her, his eyes shining. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 07:37, February 5, 2018 (UTC)
Morningflame thought about it even longer, if that was possible, and was completely sure of himself. He picked out Dappleleaf's scent from everyone else, making his way over to her. "I've decided," he hissed quietly into her ear. "Have you?"
Sparrowclaw skipped into camp with a squirrel between her jaws. Her nightly meetings with her brother, Sumacshade, didn't seem to wear her out. She was as bright and full of energy as ever. And we're meeting again tonight! She thought excitedly, which was followed by a pang of guilt. She loved it but hated it at the same time. She hated that fact she was lying to her Clan and sneaking around in darkness like some kind of fox. Why are we in different Clans? Why can't we both be in AutumnClan? Everything would be so much easier then, she asked herself, suddenly becoming obviously upset with her head lowered and tail trailing the ground as she dropped her squirrel on the fresh-kill pile. ~Patchfeather~ 14:34, February 5, 2018 (UTC)
Deerfoot lifted her eyes to his with a soft smile. "Absolutely," she purred. The two already sat beside and stream and it wasn't long before Swiftstream had jumped into the stream. Pelt soaked. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:48, February 5, 2018 (UTC)
At her blind brother's question, Dappleleaf shifted anxiously. Packing up and leaving her Clan for good was a big decision, and she wanted to...but she hadn't decided where she'd go. It would have to be a permanent move, she couldn't live life hopping from Clan to Clan. "...I haven't decided yet. I don't know where I want to go."Silverstar 16:53, February 25, 2018 (UTC)
Sycamoreheart and Ravenwing were out hunting, taking advantage of the low light to hunt more efficiently. The torbie she-cat had to admit, she did think the older warrior was slightly odd with his mannerisms, but, was kind enough to indulge her to accompany her out hunting. — #garykingandtheenablers 20:59 Tue Feb 27 2018
Ivyfoot, grey and white pelt damp the morning's dew, had already sent off the day's patrols and was headed out for a solo hunt herself. The bicolored deputy slunk from camp, and ears open for any dangers. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 15:30, February 28, 2018 (UTC)
