Two moons had passed since Shadowkit's outburst at his sister and it seemed Clearkit and Rainkit had adopted himand his sister as their friends. He didn't mind truly, he stayed quiet most of the time and they left him alone when needed. Soon the four would be apprentices and quite frankly the Snowshoe tom was excited for that. At the age of six moons, Shadowkit and Duskkit's ceremonies were right around the corner and he couldn't wait. With every move the deputy and leader made he always got excited thinking it was time. However, Shadowkit sat patiently waiting. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 17:30, January 3, 2017 (UTC)
Soon, Goldpetal could practically taste it. The deputy had refused to move into the nursery, too obsessed with the popularity she had received as clan deputy. Lakestar, on the other hand, wasn't all too pleased with the 'services' his deputy was providing- or, at least, was supposed to provide. He had considered replacing her on multiple accounts, but noticed that something was...wrong with her. He intended on asking Honeydapple to check her out, but noticed that the Medicine Cat was constantly occupied with stocking up on her supplies.
Meanwhile, Tanagerpaw eagerly babbled to Elkpaw about their upcoming ceremony, which was to take place after or before the approaching apprentice ceremony. He too was excited, but the shy and introverted tom didn't show it as much...however, he was very observant. And he didn't like how Tanagerpaw was constantly eyeing that Spider-guy. But what could he possibly do about it? He was far too frightened! Silverstar 00:09, January 4, 2017 (UTC)
Clearkit and Rainkit sat outside the nursery together. They were disappointed they'd have to wait at least a moon or more before joining their friends in the apprentices den, but they accepted it. ---- Meanwhile, Spiderfeather padded along the border, hunting on his own. ~Patchfeather~ 01:58, January 4, 2017 (UTC)
Fisherkit kept to herself, perched upon a small rock as she groomed her face, lapping at a paw before dragging it over her forehead. She could detect the excitement emitting from the kittens and apprentices, who were to have their ceremonies in a few days. Pah, impatient kids...she was much older than them, and was still yet to have her ceremony, or even grow in size.
"U-Um, Tanagerpaw..." Elkpaw glanced up at his sister nervously, breaking her long and ongoing babble with his shy little voice. She paused, glancing at him almost impatiently, waiting for him to continue. "...Why do you keep talking about that S-Spiderfeather guy?" He immediately cringed, awaiting a cuff around the ears, but she only froze up at his question.Silverstar 22:49, January 4, 2017 (UTC)
Despite the Snowshoe tom always being emotionally quiet, Shadowkit was bustling with energy and excitement. His blue gaze always on Lakestar, watching and waiting. Duskkit - however - would miss hanging out with her new friends. Her brother seemd okay with hanging around them.
Meanwhile, Shadestorm sat alone in camp. He begun to think more about his brother's death. Rookflame. His best friend and brother. Dead. He still couldn't believe it. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 02:09, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
Once Lakestar and Goldpetal left camp with their chosen cats to attend the Gathering, Soaringsong took charge of camp. She really wished to go to the Gathering with her brother, seeing that it was his second or third as clan leader. But, she knew it was her responsibility to be in charge of everyone back at home, just to keep everyone safe.
Fisherkit observed Soaringsong, knowing the pale warrior wished to be with her siblings. But the black tabby kitten approved of the tabby: she could make a good deputy or leader some day, like her brother or father. But unfortunately, she seemed more interested in obnoxious kits. Pathetic.Silverstar 02:28, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
As Spiderfeather padded on in silence, his thoughts went to Tanagerpaw. The apprentice he had befriended. He caught himself staring at her, and she was always in his thoughts. ---- Clearkit hurried over to her friends. "Do you know when your ceremony will be?" she asked, calmly yet excitedly. ~Patchfeather~ 04:19, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
At long last, Fisherkit had everything planned out! Finally, her immortality would be no more, and she could age and grow old like the rest, she could have an actual life. Most would do anything for immortality, they would crave it, they would give anything to be forever young. But Fisherkit had first-hand experience on how terrible it was. The black tabby kitten knew just what she'd do: accompany Honeydapple to the next Half-moon meeting. There, she would beg her mother, Nox, to be granted mortality, so she may live the life of a normal cat.
Tanagerpaw was still unsure on how to respond to her brother, so she opened her mouth, shut it, and then let her gaze trail off. Her pale optics fell onto Spiderfeather, and she held his gaze for a couple of heartbeats. Quickly growing hot with embarrassment, she looked away, bowing her head shamefully. Elkpaw, meanwhile, huffed at the little dorky scene.Silverstar 03:48, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
After returning to camp, and then the strange moment staring into Tanagerpaw's eyes, which made his pelt spark with heat and face flush, Spiderfeather bowed his head away and quickly went to the fresh-kill pile to grab a snack. ---- Lavenderpaw meanwhile lie peacefully watching the other apprentices drama, feeling very happy and proud she wasn't in love with anyone. ~Patchfeather~ 03:58, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
Once again, the normally loud and obnoxious Tanagerpaw grew silent, lifting her gaze and allowing it to trail after the pointed warrior. With a mindless shrug, she suddenly got up, turned to Elkpaw, and careless said, "I'mma go talk to him." She turned quickly, but anxiousness churned in Elkpaw's stomach. No, she was being far too bold, far too bold for her own good! He quickly grabbed her tail with his jaws, cringing at her attempt to speak with Spiderfeather.
"No, don't do it, Tanny! You're being too bold!" He squeaked quietly, bashfully glancing up at his littermate, who tore away her tail. So says the little mouse, she thought with a small huff before approaching Spiderfeather in long strides, grinning cheerfully.
Spiderfeather blinked, then nodded quickly. "Sure!" he said, a little louder than meant. He was half anxious about having her this close to him and half happy. He had picked a blackbird from the fresh-kill pile and offered her some with a sweep of his tail. ---- Lavenderpaw watched Elkpaw with Tanagerpaw. She felt a rush of pity for him. This was all probably hard for him.... She felt a wave of relief and envy as well. She wished she had a sibling, but she was glad she didn't so she wouldn't have to go through... that... She silently stared at him, wondering if she should try to go over and maybe take his mind off of it... or if he'd be better off alone. ~Patchfeather~ 04:20, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
Oh, he actually wanted to share? No way, that was awesome! Tanagerpaw had only planned on blabbing his ears off, but this was even better. Cheerfully, the tortoiseshell tabby took a bite out from her share, unable to hold back a quiet purr. "So, you have any goals or ridiculous dreams that you doubt'll ever come true? I sure do."
Elkpaw let out a terrified squeal that was surprisingly silent. His sister actually went over there! She was going to make a fool out of herself...and, well, he didn't want her attention to be drawn to him once she got embarrassed. So, the bashful ruddy tom scooted off into the Apprentice's den to hide. Coward.Silverstar 04:27, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather looked thoughtful. "Nah. All I really ever planned was being a good warrior and maybe having a mate and some kits... no big deal..." he said, scuffing the ground. "...What are your wild dreams?" ---- Lavenderpaw watched Elkpaw hurry into the den, then she made up her mind to go see him. She was bored anyway. She ducked into the den. "Elkpaw? You looked like you stepped on a thorn out there..." ~Patchfeather~ 04:33, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
The eyes of the hopeful apprentice seemed to glow, as if she was proud of her dream. "Deputy! That's all I ever want- to be deputy! Not a senior warrior, not a Medicine cat, not even a Leader. Just...deputy."---- Elkpaw let out a soft squeak of fear. Someone who wasn't his sister was actually speaking to him!! Oh no, what was he to do? What if he hurt her feelings, what if she wanted to beat him up? So he stood their, frozen in place, like a cornered mouse.Silverstar 04:35, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
"Just deputy?" Spiderfeather said, feeling a little surprised she didn't want more. "That sounds great... You'd make a really good one." ---- Lavenderpaw slid closer to him, gently touching his shoulder with her tail-tip. "Are you okay?" ~Patchfeather~ 05:05, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
"Thanks!" Tanagerpaw let out a happy purr before continuing to stuff her face with fresh kill. So messy... moments later, once she had finished, she carefully groomed her face with a paw. "I'd do anything to be deputy...maybe even kill!" She said this in a pretty cheery manner, which was a bit frightening.---- Elkpaw remained planted in his place, eyes round. He managed to force out a soft whine.Silverstar 05:08, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather lifted one corner of his mouth into a half smile and gave Tanagerpaw an odd but warm look. ---- Lavenderpaw flattened her ears in concern. Did I hurt him. "Should I get some herbs? I know some. I could get you some thyme," she warmly offered. ~Patchfeather~ 05:12, January 6, 2017 (UTC)
The apprentice smiled in return, only to give him a confused look. "Um...I think you have some blood on your face."---- "N-No!" Elkpaw choked out quickly, his heart pounding in his chest.Silverstar 01:35, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather face turned pale. "Blood?" he echoed. "Am I bleeding?"----- Lavenderpaw sat down in her nest, tucking her paws underneath her chest. "Am I freaking you out?" she honestly asked. ~Patchfeather~ 03:18, January 7, 2017 (UTC)
The day after the Gathering, Lakestar held a handful of ceremonies. "Shadowkit and Duskkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Shadowpaw and Duskpaw. Your mentors will be Spiderfeather and Fallensnow, in that order. I hope they will pass down all they know on to you." After the cheering subsided, Lakestar motioned for the kits of Huntingshadow to step forward. Tanagerpaw's pelt was sleek and well-groomed, Elkpaw as well, but he looked absolutely frightened. While his sister was clearly proud, the young tom looked as if he was about to pass out from terror.
"I, Lakestar, leader of SpringClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn." Turning to the pair of siblings, Lakestar went on, "Tanagerpaw and Elkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do!" The call of Tanagerpaw rang much louder and clearer than that of her nervous brother.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Tanagerpaw, from this moment you will be known as Tanagersong. StarClan honors your courage and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SpringClan. Elkpaw, from this moment you will be known as Elkstep. StarClan honors your patience and compassion, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SpringClan." He finished with a small nod of his head, watching as the newest warriors brightened as their names were cheered.Silverstar 21:38, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
Clearkit and Rainkit cheered for their friends loudly. Spiderfeather was pleased and not surprised he had gotten an apprentice. I think I'm ready. He thought as he touched his nose to Shadowpaw's. He cheered Tanagersong's name along with the rest of the clan. He was so happy she was a warrior! Maybe soon she'd mentor some of the other kits, then they could train their apprentices together. Lavenderpaw silently watched from behind the crowd of cats as the newest warriors and apprentices were named. ~Patchfeather~ 21:50, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
Tanagersong couldn't stop her purring, proud to finally become a warrior of her Clan. If only her parents could see her! She knew for a fact that they wouldn't be able to see Elkstep...because he was now hiding closely behind his sister, ears flattened nervously. Typical of him.Silverstar 22:16, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather padded over to Tanagersong. "Congratulations, Tanagersong," he purred. "Elkstep," he added with a sidelong glance at the tom. "When you finish your vigil, I was thinking we could go hunting? If you're not too tired of course."---- (does anyone have any cats open to mentor Lavender?) Lavenderpaw hurried away when too many cats were near her, and she went to hide in the quieter apprentices den. Maybe after her Clanmates shut up she could go and train. ~Patchfeather~ 22:38, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
(Soaringsong's the only one I have) Tanagersong suddenly felt light-weight, as if she was going to fly away. Another warm purr rumbled in her throat, and she curled her tail in pure excitement. "Sure, I'm ready for anything!"Silverstar 23:58, January 12, 2017 (UTC)
(she'll work) Spiderfeather let out a purr as well, warmth flooding over him. "Great! I'll see you then," he meowed. He remembered; he had an apprentice now. He should show Shadowpaw around and stuff... He made his way to his apprentice. He remembered the first thing his mentor told him to do was make his new nest. "Why don't you go make your nest, then we can tour the territory." ~Patchfeather~ 00:27, January 13, 2017 (UTC)
Shadowpaw cast his icy gaze onto his mentor, seconds after he was chosen. This warrior looked too young to be a mentor. The snowshoe tom's face had a look of dismay before he finally accepted it. Duskpaw had gotten someone better, Lakestar's brother. Fallensnow was a great warrior, hopefully he could deal with Duskpaw's energy.
Duskpaw cast her blue gaze onto Fallensnow, a soft smile falling onto her lips. The warrior seemed to be great at battle. Especially since his body was so well-defined. Something odd to notice about your mentor but that was just her nature. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 15:12, January 13, 2017 (UTC)
Tanagersong smiled after Spiderfeather as he walked off, almost in a dreamy manner. Letting out the quietest hiss of annoyance, Elkstep quickly slapped the side of his sister with his ruddy tail to snap her out of it.
Meanwhile, Fallensnow scowled quietly under his breath. Great, he had to deal with two pesky younger siblings, and now another small cat? Maybe the energetic duo, Raptorpaw and Galepaw, would tear these two newbies apart before Fallensnow had to deal too much with his apprentice? That'd work out great (and it'd be the first time his younger siblings did something to his liking). With a soft grunt, the bitter battle-hungry warrior nodded at the apprentice's den. "Make your nest." Short, not so sweet, but it did the job.Silverstar 23:30, January 13, 2017 (UTC)
Shadowpaw walked out of the Apprentices' den, Duskpaw following closely rambling on about how she had been taken out the day before by Fallensnow. "Oh man, you should have seen it Shadowpaw!" She exclaimed still rambling. "Fallensnow's a great battler, he taught me a few things but not much." She kept going on and on. Shadowpaw gave a sigh as he halfway listened to her, his paws dragging through the dirt of the camp. Would Spiderfeather take him out today? I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 17:14, March 8, 2017 (UTC)
"Heeeey, Fallensnuh!" Raptorpaw loped towards his older brother with a crooked, mischievous grin on his features. The grumpy warrior scowled at her brother, like a disappointed father. "Pronounce my name correctly, little brother, or I'll shred your ears." Fallensnow snapped, while Galepaw crept towards her brothers with a frown. "Awww, c'mon Fallensnuh, you're no fun!"
Lakestar avoided the bustling and banter of his siblings, finding himself sliding out of camp instead. He needed to clear his mind...he needed to go for a hunt. He wasn't certain if Goldpetal should remain as his deputy any longer, she was horrible at her job.Silverstar 17:47, March 11, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather, who had been grooming, finished up and glanced over to Shadowpaw and bounded over. "We're going to battle-train today!" he announced, unable to stop his paws from bouncing.
"You can do it, Clearpaw," Rainpaw quietly encouraged Clearpaw, who was struggling with her stalking. The two had been made apprentices some time ago. Clearpaw glanced at Rainpaw, looking uncertain, then turned back to the leaf she was practicing on. She crouched low, keeping her tail still and just above the ground. "Don't spread your legs out so much," Rainpaw instucted, his whiskers twitching with amusement. Clearpaw looked more like a spider than a cat.
Tanagersong had been closely interacting with Spiderfeather, and now daydreamed in the warrior's den, rolling on her back and staring up at the ceiling. She purred quietly to herself, while Elkstep cast her a disgusted look. He knew she was thinking about Spiderfeather, and wouldn't be surprised if they became mates...but he didn't want them together, that was the thing.
Goldpetal was getting closer to kitting, and had further slacked on her jobs. Lakestar was irritated with her, and as a result, was out hunting again. He needed to clear up his head (once again), and avoid that pesky, lazy deputy of his...he'd be replacing her soon, he'd already made up his mind.Silverstar 14:52, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Shadowpaw dipped his head as he walked into camp with Duskpaw, they were to meet with their friends, Clearpaw and Rainpaw. The two siblings had become close to the pair of siblings they hung out with frequently. The Snowshoe apprentice darted through the camp entrance, waiting for Duskpaw - whom was closely behind. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 15:55, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Fallensnow began to grit his teeth in rage as his younger brother and sister continued to tease him, sticking out their tongues playfully. So close, he almost cracked... "He's s'no'w fun, Galepaw." Raptorpaw grinned cheekily before Fallensnow leaped forward, tackling Galepaw and Raptorpaw.Silverstar 16:05, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Shadestorm sat inside the warriors den, thoughts clouding his mind. He had been thinking of what he'd do to show the memory of his family. He had recently just started to accept they were no longer here and it truly hurt that his best friend and brother would no longer be here. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:15, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
"Now he's plenty fun!" Galepaw giggled as Fallensnow pinned both her and her brother, the pale warrior snarling in anger. "I'm going to kill the both of you!" He roared at the two apprentices, glowering at both his brother and sister. They continued to grin underneath his paws, Raptorpaw more or less smirking smugly.
"Alright you two, that's enough. Leave Grumpysnow alone." The gentle voice of Soaringsong sounded from behind the group of fighting siblings, the graceful tabby approaching slowly with an amused twitch of her whiskers. "You two can pick on him later, when he's not 'in a mood'."Silverstar 16:19, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Cavernpaw sat with Toadpaw just off to the side of the fresh-kill pile, the two chatting. She had run into him, literally, about a week ago and had been hasty to apologize. Toadpaw - however - wasn't worried about it at all. He was polite and knew when something was an accident. The gray-brown tom smiled as he spoke. "How about we go for a little hunt?" He suggested. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:24, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
"What isn't he in a mood?" "Raptorpaw!" Soaringsong barked at him quickly, flicking her tail in irritation. "Come on over here, that's enough....for now." She added quietly, her little brother obediently approaching with his head bowed. "You know that Fallensnow's a warrior, and he's quite sensitive since the death of mom and dad. Be more respectful, you're a growing gentleman so you need to act your age-"
"-Stop it, Soaringsong!" The gray tom suddenly snapped at his sister, a spark of irritation in his blue eyes. "You always think you're mom, but you aren't, and you never will be!"Silverstar 16:28, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Shadestorm's gaze flicked over to the group of cats watching silently. He quickly looked away giving a heavy sigh before he headed into the warriors den for a nap. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:30, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
After his suddenly hostile remark, Raptorpaw turned and pelted out of camp, fur spiked. Soaringsong watched him leave painfully, while Galepaw lowered her head, blue eyes gleaming with sorrow. Even Fallensnow went silent, eyes round with shock.Silverstar 16:33, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Clearpaw flew out of camp, determined to be in the lead. Rainpaw followed much slower falling to the back of the group and staring at his surroundings with shiny blank green eyes, going over a few training moves in his head. Spiderfeather hurried after the herd of apprentices', waving his tail to Tangagersong before leaving camp. Her face was always in his dreams...~Patchfeather~ 19:38, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Duskpaw was close behind Clearpaw, her tail held high as she ran - giggles also coming from her mouth. Shadowpaw, however, stayed close to the warrior his gaze ahead. Unlike his childish friends he preferred to take it slow. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 19:42, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Clearpaw flew over the leaf littered ground and risked glancing behind her. "Catch me if you -" she began, then was aburptly cut off as she ran into a tree. "Ow! I'm okay! I did that on purpose!"
Spiderfeather huffed at the apprentices and continued to walk. "Never risk looking behind you as you run." Rainpaw nodded, looking overly serious. "I will never run into a tree," he vowed. ~Patchfeather~ 19:49, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Shadowpaw gave a little hmph of amusement before he was once again serious once more. The Snowshoe tom's gaze turning towards the horizon. Did he have any other family out there? I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 19:50, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Spiderfeather slowed as they approached the training area. "Are there any moves in particular anyone is interested in learning today?" Clearpaw narrowed her eyes thoughtfully, glancing at her friends. She would love to attack them with some badger defense moves... ~Patchfeather~ 19:55, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Soaringsong lowered her head in defeat, heart twisting in knots as Raptorpaw's offended face appeared in her memories once more. She would never be able to unsee that...---- Raptorpaw continued to storm off, whirling past Lakestar and leaving the blue tabby staring in confusion. The gray tabby apprentice disappeared into the undergrowth before pelting up a tree, sitting in a branch and sulking to himself.Silverstar 15:58, March 25, 2017 (UTC)
Stormclaw walked into camp, a sigh on his lips. The ginger and white warrior had recently joined the Clan after leaving his old Clan, for reasons only known to him. Heck, he hadn't even told Lakestar why he'd left his birth Clan. My name is Lord Voldemort 19:30, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Fallensnow awkwardly glanced at the mournful Soaringsong and slinked away. He wasn't good for comforting others who were sad and what not.---- Raptorpaw flattened his ears, glowering out at the forest. He was a kitten anymore, and Soaringsong didn't need to act like their mother...nobody could ever replace Shellshore.Silverstar 19:34, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Stormclaw passed a sad looking Soaringsong, figuring it was family matters he left her be. He much like his mother hated to see others unhappy. The bi-colored tabby made his way to the side of camp before he started to work a pair of knots out of his pelt. My name is Lord Voldemort 19:36, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
The pale tabby flinched in surprise as someone brushed against her. Soaringsong lifted her head to see Honeydapple, the medicine cat's eyes gentle per usual. "Something wrong?" She asked her older sister gently, only for the pale warrior to bury her face into the herb-scented she-cat's fur. "I miss them..."---- Raptorpaw glanced down at the grass below, half expecting to see Galepaw. His littermate was always by his side, always acting as his support, but...she wasn't there.Silverstar 19:39, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Treading his way into the warriors den once the knots were gone, Stormclaw curled up tightly intent on a small nap. He may not have very many friends or any at all here but he was also intent on showing Lakestar he was loyal despite his non-SpringClan relations. My name is Lord Voldemort 19:42, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
"Our parents?" Honeydapple's gaze softened as Soaringsong slowly nodded her head in response. "We all do," the medicine cat murmured before sitting down beside her older sibilng.---- Tanagersong patiently waited for Spiderfeather's return. She wanted to talk to him.Silverstar 19:44, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
At that moment, Cavernpaw's parents walked into camp as she sat talking with Toadpaw once more. She had grown to get to know the tom and quite frankly she wasn't sure if they were just friends anymore. Maybe there was something more? My name is Lord Voldemort 19:46, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Galepaw sat by herself, which was an unusual sight, seeing that she was always beside her brother. She frowned to herself, praying to StarClan that Raptorpaw was alright. She wasn't used to being without her little companion, and his sudden disapperance left her feeling lonely.Silverstar 19:49, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Cavernpaw smiled to her father, the tabby and white warrior sending his daughter a smile in return as both him and Mintnose move on to the warriors den. The silver tabby turning back to Toadpaw, his gray-brown tabby curling his tail around his paws. My name is Lord Voldemort 19:53, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
After several moments of silence, Soaringsong finally spoke up. "...I want to be a loving mother, just like our own mom. I want kittens of my own, ones that I can dote upon and be proud of when they grow up into strong warriors."---- Lakestar finally returned to camp, quickly ordering his former apprentice to get up and do something. Tanagersong slowly backed away, scowling to herself before marching off to put fresh moss in the elder's den.Silverstar 16:50, March 30, 2017 (UTC)
