Waspwhisker - er Waspstar - not yet used to her new name, walked into camp her thick tortoiseshell pelt bristled against the cold. She had until sundown to choose her deputy. She was pretty sure of who it would be - however - she wasn't ready for that. She still needed to mourn for Nightstar, they had only been mates a short while. Yet he was gone. Forever. The tortoiseshell molly slunk to her den, still reeking of his scent. What the Clan didn't know was that the new leader was expecting. She was pregnant with Nightstar's kittens and now they had no father. The tortoiseshell leader sighed as she settled in her mate's nest. The queen wiry and exhausted quickly fell asleep. Ravenflight was sleeping in the warriors den, whimpering at a nightmare that haunted his dreams. He started twitching his paws until he was kicking whichever cat slept in the nest next to him. Meanwhile, Whitetoe was out and about, returning from hunting with a hawk clamped in her jaws. She took it to the elders, horribly proud of herself, but she didn't let it show, and instead kept a stony look on her face. ~Patchfeather~ 15:18, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Waspstar managed to only get in a thirty minute nap, the horror of still seeing her mate's body lifeless in her mind. The tortoiseshell molly sat just on the inside of her den facing out towards her camo. The Clan had grown quiet since she'd come back. Who would she choose as deputy?
Littleclaw rested just inside the warriors den. He had grown annoyed with that Kit's whimpers' Ravenflight. Reedfeather - however - stepped towards him shaking him awake. "You okay?" she asked. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:16, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Shadowstorm had attempted to go hunting, returning with a thrush and a vole. He couldn've caughten more, but the easily-distracted tom had caughten a sight of a bumble bee, and had become "busy". Meanwhile, Rainingflame rest in the warrior's den, the silver tabby's head resting on her paws as she ignored the chatter within the den.Silverstar 16:26, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Ravenflight blinked his eyes open, looking grim and worried. Was he still dreaming? He blinked a few times, then pinched himself with a claw, and felt the pain, and then knew he was awake. "Oh, yes. I'm fine. Just a nightmare," he said. He got up, shaking out his pelt. He remembered a new deputy would be chosen soon. He was sure he had zero chance in being picked, but he was still excited to watch, he didn't want to miss it! He wasn't sure if Waspstar had even made up her mind yet, so he'd just do some work around the camp, to be sure he'd be there. Maybe cleaning out old bedding? It was an apprentices task, but he didn't mind.~Patchfeather~ 16:44, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
The tortoiseshell queen, mind finally made up, made her way slowly and quietly to the Highrock. Waspstar's blue eyes watching, very closely. She had finally decided who she would pick and knew it was the right choice. She crouched, her pregnancy still yet to show, leapt onto the rock. She watched her Clan quietly before opening her mouth and calling. "May all cats old enough to gather prey please gather,"
Chervilclaw stood back from all the other cats beside her brother, Littleclaw, and near Reedfeather. The siblings had an idea of who she'd choose. She trusted her three half-siblings with her life and the whole Clan knew it'd be one of them. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 21:18, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Anttail awoke slowly by opening one eye at a time. A nest away from his slept his brother, Barleyclaw and his partner, Lizardcloud. A hint of jealousy ran through the groggy cat but it soon faded away. He got up and stretched as he recalled the reason why he had been woken up. Whispers of who Waspstar would name as the deputy had started in the hours of dawn, and as a young warrior the tom couldn't help but be a little bit curious about who the leader would name. Anttail walked over to his brother and nudged him earning a 'what the hell man, it's too early to get up'. With a sigh, the black tom answered, "Waspstar's going to name her deputy sooner or later so get your butt into gear would you?" After a few minutes of sleepy grumbles and whatnot, the three young warriors emerged from the den. They took their place alongside some other cats only a few moons or so older than themselves. ╾erdich Sigh No More 21:49 Thu Dec 22 2016
Waspstar watched as the center of camp quickly filled up. Here goes, the tortoiseshell cast her icy eyes on her Clan. "In the recent passing of.." she stumbled over his name. "Nightstar. It is time I name my deputy." she told them. The queen swallowed nervously. "I say this in front of StarClan in hopes that they approved of this choice. The new deputy of SummerClan will be Skinkfang." she said.
The tom himself - however - greatly surpised dipped his head. He'd have fun being his sister's deputy, well half-sister. The fluffy black and white deputy grinned. "I'd be honored." he said. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 21:57, December 22, 2016 (UTC)
Ravenflight watched silently, but excitedly as Waspstar announced the new deputy. He approved her choice, but didn't cheer with his Clanmates. He prefered to stay quiet. Whitetoe who sat by his side also kept her stone-cold mask on, letting no emotion seep though. ~Patchfeather~ 00:59, December 23, 2016 (UTC)
Once naming her deputy, the tortoiseshell queen immediately went back to her den, thoughts not yet over Nightstar. The mottled leader curled up in a sort of sitting position. None of the Clan knew of her pregnancy nor would they. Not til it was too late. The queen glanced towards the entrance of her den to see Morningbreeze, her best friend. "Hey there, hotness." The cream warrior said sitting beside her.
Chervilclaw quickly made her way out of camp - however - her clumsy self managed to bump and knock over a fellow warrior. Anttail. The quiet and solitaire cat she had seen around camp at least once or twice. "Oh sorry about that. My clumsy paws." She scoffed. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 05:58, December 23, 2016 (UTC)
The group of young cats all cheered for the newly named deputy. Anttail bid his brother and sister-in-law farewell and left them. In doing so he crashed straight into the white pelt of Chervilclaw. He shook his head to clear away the confusion as he heard her apologise but, with a hearty smile he replied. "It's all good, it happens every now and then." With a bit of hesitation following his reply to her words, the black tom added, "as my form of an apology how would you like to follow me on a short border patrol? I was thinking towards SpringClan if that's all right with you of course," he chuckled. ╾erdich Sigh No More 06:19 Fri Dec 23 2016
"That would be nice." The pale molly said. Her green eyes going to her annoying sister, despite her recent pesky behavior Chervilclaw loved her dearly. "I need to get out anyway." She told him. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 07:26, December 23, 2016 (UTC)
"All good then, shall we?" he asked, his blue eyes shining. Anttail had to admit he loved getting out of camp despite normally having a job to do. The feel of the tall grass against his pelt brought out his happiest smiles normally. ╾erdich Sigh No More 07:28 Fri Dec 23 2016
Chervilclaw smiled and followed the dark warrior. Most of the Clan seemed to worry for their new leader. It seemed she had sunken into a deep depression. Sure she knew it must be hard losing a loved one but you didn't have to slowly kill yourself right? "Lets." After a while of silence she spoke her worries of their leader.
"Is it just me or is Waspstar a little to down? She's got a Clan to care for and it seems she's been on the super downside lately." I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 08:04, December 23, 2016 (UTC)
Anttail walked beside the white warrior and nodded as she spoke. "The ceremony today has been one of her few appearances since receiving her lives, so I'd say that Nightstar's death has really taken a toll on her," the tom replied. He was going to say something about family but, he stopped himself. "Hopefully something might pop up and it'll take her mind off of it and make her realise she has a Clan to lead," Anttail added. ╾erdich Sigh No More 08:10 Fri Dec 23 2016
Anttail's ears pricked at that bit of information. "I didn't know they were mates, was that known to the rest of the Clan?" the tom asked. Having heard that, well he thought that his last comment was a bit harsh despite the truth behind it. But what did Anttail know? He didn't want to get romantically involved with anyone - thanks to his parents. ╾erdich Sigh No More 19:49 Mon Dec 26 2016
"They didn't really show their relationship in public. I don't blame them, she was his deputy. He was leader, it was frowned upon." Chervilclaw commented. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 02:23, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
Ravenflight meanwhile hovered around Whitetoe, enjoying the company of his one and only friend. Whitetoe loved him, but it was a little annoying for her to have him constantly around her. "Hey, Ravenflight... Why not go and talk to some of the other warriors? They may like some company, maybe you could even go on a hunt with them?" she asked, hopefully. She never got angry at him for hovering, in fact she couldn't blame him. He didn't have anyone in the Clan; no kin; no friends; just Clanmates he was too scared to look at. He only had her. But she knew he needed more cats in his life, for his own good.
Waspstar made her way out of the nursery after nursing her kittens to perform a eremony that was overdue. The tortoiseshell leader gave a heavy sigh, it had been almost a full two moons since Nightstar's death and a full week since the birth of her kittens. The queen was exhausted for sure, especially with the worry of the Clans taking advantage of her Clan's time of need. Nightstar had been close to everyone, he was a very friendly cat and was even the Clan's most peaceful leader at the time. Now since his passing she wasn't sure what she was to do. Her idea was to form an alliance with one of the other Clans, SpringClan possible. They were calm, peaceful, and everything SummerClan tried to be.
The she-cat shook that from her mind, she'd worry about the alliance later. The queen crouched before leaping onto Highrock and calling forth her Clan. She sat atop the rock waiting for the Clan to become silent and once they were she spoke. "Privetpaw has passed her assessment and is long overdue for her ceremony," she began. "Privetpaw please step forward." The tabby apprentice did so.
"Privetpaw from this day forward you will be known as Privetshade for your courage and battle skills." She touched the tabby she-cat's nose gently before she silenced the Clan once more. She ought to let them know to watch the borders. "As you all know our Clan is in a - er vulnerable state. I have already notified my deputy," she signaled to her half-brother, Skinkfan who gave a lazy grin. "Of what is going on, however, I do want borders doubled and watched closely. Most Clans wouldn't hesitate to attack a weaker Clan." She said before leaping down and stretching. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:35, March 22, 2017 (UTC)
Shadowstorm lazily rolled beside Rainingflame after the meeting, prodding his cousin's side and causing her to let out a soft grunt. "Mh, what do you want?" She mumbled under her breath, trying to soak up every last ray of the dying sunlight. The scattered smoke warrior let out a small shrug. "I dunno, I really just wanna talk to someone, and we're family, soooo..."
Troutkit lay in her nest, sighing thoughtfully to herself. Something always felt...off. Was she truly a SummerClan member, born and raised? She looked at the others with their thin fur, builds made for running, long legs...she just didn't fit in? Her fur was thick and water-proof, she had darker fur, and was slender yet not one for running. It made her feel...awkward.Silverstar 14:55, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Skinkfang walked into camp with his two sisters, Morningbreeze and Silverpelt. They had been out hunting and playing all day, now that they were back the deputy was exhausted. He gave his thick chest fur a quick lick before he dropping his prey at the pile to go and chat with Waspstar for a bit.
Chervilclaw sat with her siblings in camp off to the shadows. They were talking about the topic Waspstar had brought up. The other Clans attacking the weak Clans, plus she had mentioned an alliance with SpringClan. Would she go off soon and talk with Lakestar? I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 15:58, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Rainingflame let out a soft snort. "C'mon, Shadowstorm! You can't use me as your excuse whenever you feel, just because we're cousins. Go hunting or something, I just did." The silver tabby narrowed her eyes at the smoke warrior, who sighed shamefully before rolling onto his paws and awkwardly staggering off.
Troutkit shifted in her nest, uneasy. What puzzled her even further was the fact that both of her parents had died, along with any other apparent relatives she had. It was too...fishy for her liking.Silverstar 16:08, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Privetshade basked in the evening sunlight, eyes half closed as she did so. The new warrior had been gone hunting alone all day and was happy to now be able to rest. She wanted to prove she was good at what she did. She lifted her head just slightly to glance up and see a few cats heading out. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:17, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
"Fine, ok..." Shadowstorm mumbled in disappointment, dragging his tail as he trudged out of camp. "Not like I can catch anything anyways." He huffed to himself, certain he overheard Rainingflame grumbling 'not with an attitude like that'. He was far too easily distracted and energetic, he needed to settle down and cool his jets.Silverstar 16:23, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Privetshade watched him for second more before she closed her eyes and squirmed to get comfortable. Once comfortable the shadow of a larger cat covered the sun's light. "Hey!" She jumped up and bumped into a large tabby. "Oh sorry," she mumbled. Congolifin cast his ruddy gaze onto her coolly before he spoke in a sickly, fake tone. "Evening Privetshade," he said. "Congratulations on your ceremony. Excited for your vigil?" I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:27, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Troutkit let her kitten-blue gaze slide over to the sunning silver tabby, Rainingflame. She seemed a bit...familiar. The kitten recalled someone who held some of the same features, an older tom, if she remembered correctly. She remembered a single fracture of her past, of her memories. It had been when she was very young, and the tom who appeared similar to Rainingflame had been carrying Troutkit into the nursery. Had she been born in the Clan's territory, outside of camp?Silverstar 16:31, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Whitetoe rested outside the warriors den, her eyes narrowed to slights as she watched the camp. Ravenflight had taken Whitetoe's advice as a sigh she didn't want him to be around her so he sat alone looking downcast despite the good news of a new warrior in the Clan. ~Patchfeather~ 21:28, March 24, 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps she needed to ask Rainingflame? Troutkit sat in the nursery, glancing at the warrior calmly before turning away. Maybe not...she was a bit shy when it came to approaching battle-hardened warriors.Silverstar 16:23, March 27, 2017 (UTC)
Privetshade gave the rather flirtatious tom a hard look before she spoke in a stony voice. "I am," she muttered glancing away towards Troutkit. "I suppose your excited to see if I'll fail or not." I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 16:32, March 27, 2017 (UTC)
The chocolate smoke kitten flattened her ears nervously before cowering away. She certainly didn't fit in; with her well-groomed thick fur an athletic build, she didn't appear to be the kitten of a mere warrior. She carried the genes of a powerful and healthy oriental-descended leader.Silverstar 20:41, March 27, 2017 (UTC)
Congolifin gave a hearty chuckle. "Fail? Everyone fails at one point or another." He states. The black molly turned her stare onto the tabby tom, eyes narrowed. "Well I'm not everyone." She snapped. I solemnly swearthat I am up to no good 14:13, March 28, 2017 (UTC)
Troutkit mindlessly returned to grooming her thick smoke fur, having nothing better to do with herself. Perhaps one day, when she had grown into a powerful warrior, she would seek out her own story.Silverstar 14:46, March 29, 2017 (UTC)
Privetshade bared her fangs, yellow gaze cold on the large tabby. "If you don't mind I'll be on my way," and with that she turned around and left. The tabby watched after.
Chervilclaw woke later than she usually did, she had gotten a small cold less than a week ago and was fighting it off. She stood wincing at her sore muscles. The white molly yawned before she walked outside the warriors den greeting Anttail softly. My name is Lord Voldemort 14:06, March 31, 2017 (UTC) </div>
